LAKEVILLE — Second grade students from Assawompset Elementary School will join Veterans Agent Christine Boone to honor fallen service members by replacing flags at Sampson Cemetery on Thursday, May 23, at 10 a.m.

The flag placement is being coordinated as part of the town’s observance of Memorial Day, a national holiday recognizing U.S. military personnel who died in service. The students, led by teacher Kathleen Nash, are volunteering their time to assist in the effort.

The community is invited to attend and support the students as they participate in this act of remembrance.
