The event brought a crowd of nearly 200 scouts.
MIDDLEBORO – Nearly 200 scouts of all ages were busy casting, reeling and luring in catches at the Fishing Derby held at Lake Rico in Taunton on Sunday, June 2.
The derby was put on as an annual recruiting event by the Northeast District of the Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America. The Northeast District serves Middleboro and Lakeville.
The Fishing Derby draws youth from surrounding communities. Equipment for the day was provided by Mass Wildlife and bait was supplied by Tom’s Bait and Tackle in Middleboro.
