Robert D. "Chet" Sharland

Mar 21, 2024

Robert D. "Chet" Sharland of Raynham died unexpectedly on March 15, 2024. A son, father, brother, papa and friend, Chet passed surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved father of Robert M. Sharland (wife Shannon) and Jennifer Sharland all of Raynham. Loving grandfather of Jamari Harris and Maesyn Guillaumette. Also survived by Roxanne and Brad Copeland of Indiana, Jack and Linda Sharland of Bridgewater, Jimmy and Nancy Sharland of Lakeville, Art and Gale Sharland of Bridgewater, many nieces and nephews.

Chet was a machinist by trade for many years. In fact, if you talked with him about engines you made a friend for life! Prior to his death, he was enjoying retirement, always finding time to help others. He loved his Chevy Nova wagon, working on his antique C10 truck and attending antique car shows. A race fan and NASCAR enthusiast, Chet enjoyed attending races at the New England Dragway, Seekonk Speedway, Thompson Speedway and Stafford Speedway. Chet treasured the memories created at Maple Park Campground, Old Silver Beach and Chetty's Field. Chet loved his family and that love was returned. His children and grandchildren were his world. Watching his grandsons play sports brought him immense joy. He was an avid collector of all things awesome, specifically hot wheels and model cars.

Though Chet will be remembered as a man of many words or no words he will also be remembered as always there for anyone that needed a hand.
