Poetry reading at Middleboro library honors Poetry Month
MIDDLEBORO — The Middleboro Public Library will host an evening of poetry at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 to celebrate National Poetry Month at the library’s Poetry Cafe.
Jim Brosnan will read excerpts from his latest collection of poems, “Long Distance Driving,’’ as well as share some vignettes about his travels through the Midwest and other states west of the Mississippi.
Brosnan has had more than 1,000 poems published in literary journals around the world including in the United States, Canada, Ireland, England, Singapore, India, Wales, and Germany. His first poetry collection was titled “Nameless Roads.’’
The event will also offer a selection of pastries donated by the Italian Gem Cafe on Center Street in Middleboro as well as beverages.
Registration opens March 12 at midlib.org, and is required to ensure there are enough refreshments for everyone. The event is most appropriate for those ages 18 and older. This program is supported by the Peirce Trust.
