MIDDLEBORO — The Oak Point Scholarship Fund raised $1,325 during its first-ever car wash fundraiser Saturday, June 21 with all proceeds supporting area students.

Held over the course of three hours, the event drew community support and was organized by Scholarship Fund Vice President David Little. Volunteers included nine adults and 20 incoming juniors and seniors from Middleboro High School and Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School.

"We had a great day for it," wrote Scholarship Fund President John Burbage in an email. "Thank you to everyone who came to support us!"

Local businesses also pitched in. Pachinis Pizza donated free pizza, while Muckey’s Liquors supplied non-alcoholic refreshments for volunteers. Burbage thanked Water Superintendent Mike Bumpus for permitting the water-use for the event.

“When we, our local business partners and our kids come together, we are unstoppable,” Burbage wrote.

The Oak Point Scholarship Fund supports graduating students in their pursuit of higher education and trade professions.
