Ned Winslow Very, 68

Jan 15, 2024

Ned Winslow Very, 68, of Concord, New Hampshire, passed on peacefully, surrounded by close family on January 11, 2024.

Ned was born on February 7, 1955 in Westwood, Massachusetts to Ruth (Steele) and Robert Very. He attended Westwood High School and moved to Meredith, New Hampshire as a young adult. There he married Joan Stephens and together they raised four daughters. The years raising his children in Meredith were the highlight of his life and the accomplishment of which he was most proud. His daughters blessed him with three sons-in-law and fifteen grandchildren, who filled his years with much joy.

Ned delighted in his family and took every opportunity to spend time with them. Some of Ned’s most cherished moments were his time boating with family on the lakes of New Hampshire, visiting the seacoast, riding his motorcycle, playing cards and board games with his grandchildren, gathering with his large family, spending time with his siblings, and singing and listening to music. Ned had a strong faith in God, and fully appreciated the beauty of the world, from a sunset to a crisp fall day. He truly loved people; those who were blessed to spend time with him received the gift of his complete presence and kindness.

Ned is predeceased by his parents, Ruth (Steele) and Robert Very. Ned leaves behind his former wife Joan S. Very, his daughters Leah (Matt) Wolcott, Lauren (Omar Benmoussa) Very, Chelsea Very, Hayley (Andrew Harmon) Very, his sister Linda (Jerry) Bardwell, brother William (Margaret) Very, and his fifteen grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Ned’s name to the Granite VNA Hospice House, 240 Pleasant St., Concord, NH 03301.
