Middleboro student makes presentation on Career Closet

Jan 5, 2023

Noelle Engrassia, a Lasell University student from Middleboro, presented at the institution's annual Career Readiness Symposium.

Engrassia shared a presentation on the University's Career Closet, an initiative to have a permanent location on campus to furnish students with professional attire and styling services for conferences, interviews, and other situations. Engrassia and School of Fashion peers focused on the logistics of running the rental business starting this spring, including determining the necessary floorplan, fixturing, and scheduling garment collection.

The presentation incorporated the National Association of Colleges and Employers competencies of equity and inclusion, professionalism, leadership, career and self-development, intercultural knowledge and  perspective, and moral and ethical reasoning.

Engrassia also presented updates from the University's student-run boutique, studio1851, and presented a fashion industry capstone project, "Uncommon Threads, Uncommon Closet," with the Lawrence nonprofit of the same name.
