Middleboro seniors can learn about problem solving, enjoy music from yesteryear

MIDDLEBORO _ There’s a lot happening at the Middleboro Council on Aging. Here is a sampling of October events.

Swing into Autumn with the Steve Rudolph Trio will be presented at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27. The trio will present a sampling of American popular music from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. A lunch of baked ham and scalloped potatoes will be served at noon for $5. The performance starts at 1 p.m. To reserve seats, call (508) 946-2490.

A presentation on medical marijuana will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26. Registered nurse Elizabeth Dost will offer an introduction to cannabis, its uses, the industry in Massachusetts, how to become certified as a patient and other topics. An LGBTQ rainbow coffee and social hour will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 and the second Friday of each month. Call ahead to save a seat at (508) 946-2490; walk-ins are welcome. Facilitated by Valerie Fontaine.

The Middleboro Council on Aging spaghetti supper will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19. Menu includes spaghetti and meatballs, garden salad, garlic bread, beverage and dessert. Suggested donation is $10 for adults, $5 for children 10 and younger. Proceeds benefit food services Meals on Wheels and on-site meals at the center. Tickets are available until Oct. 14 by calling (508) 946-2490, with limited tickets available at the door. 

Learn about Problems Solved, a small company that helps people who have been wrongly charged or need a refund at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1. Middleboro resident Dorine Levasseur will discuss the company’s services and offer a free clinic for private consultation until 11:30 a.m. To sign up, call (508) 946-2490.
