MIDDLEBORO — Retired Middleboro Lieutenant Firefighter David Kenney passed away recently, the Middleboro Firefighters Local 3658 announced.

A public service will be held at the Middleboro fire station on Saturday, Jan. 6 from 2-4 p.m.

Kenney retired from the Middleboro Fire Department in July 2022. He had been hired by the fire department to a full time role in 2003, and previously worked for the fire department in a part time capacity. Kenney is also a military veteran and he served during the Gulf War in the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division.

Middleboro Firefighters Local 3658 described Kenney as a leader and a mentor who would “give you the shirt off his back even if it was the only one he had.” He became a Lieutenant for the Middleboro Fire Department in 2018.
