Middleboro Council on Aging to host events in January

MIDDLEBORO — The Middleboro Council on Aging will be closed from Jan. 15 through Jan. 26 for renovations. No events will be held during that period. There are still plenty of events on the schedule before and after the renovations.

Vince Jornales will host a Tai Chi class on Wednesday Jan. 3, Wednesday Jan. 10, and Wednesday Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. The cost is $5 to attend, but the first class is free for new participants.

A cardio dancing class will be held on Wednesday Jan. 3, Wednesday Jan. 10 and Wednesday Jan. 31 at 9 a.m. The cost to participate is $5.

Meditative Chair Yoga class is held every Monday and Friday at 10 a.m., excluding dates between Jan. 15 and Jan. 26. The class is a combination of chair yoga and guided meditation. Attendees will be charged $5.

Ann Marie Wronski, a certified Reiki therapist, will be available for free 30-minute sessions from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 5. Only Middleboro seniors aged 60 and older are eligible.

The low vision support group will meet on Monday, Jan. 8 at 1 p.m.

A caregiver support group will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. This roundtable discussion will feature light refreshments.

A bereavement and grief support group will meet on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. Tim Veglas of the Salvation Army will facilitate the meeting.

On Thursday, Jan. 11, two musicians, Adlie Thrower and Michael Leach, will be performing at 1 p.m. Baked Haddock will be served at 11:45 a.m. The cost to eat is $5 per person. Registration is currently open for Middleboro residents. Registration opens for non-Middleboro residents on Tuesday, Jan. 9.
