Member sought for Lakeville Economic Development Committee
LAKEVILLE — The Select Board is still looking for one more at large member to serve on the Economic Development Committee.
The Committee will focus on several key initiatives to support Lakeville’s economic growth. These include identifying changing economic trends and available development resources, as well as developing and promoting a comprehensive economic development strategy that both increases commercial property tax revenue and creates local jobs.
The Committee will also review the Town’s by-laws, regulations, and zoning to ensure consistency with Lakeville’s long-term economic goals. Streamlining the Town’s regulatory processes for commercial development will be a priority, along with advocating for state and federal legislation and regulations that support economic advancement.
In addition, the Committee will work closely with Town staff to pursue state and federal grant opportunities, and will actively support and encourage both new businesses looking to locate in Lakeville and existing businesses seeking to stay or expand.
If you are interested in serving on the Committee, please fill out the application on the town website and email it to tcraig-mcgee@lakevillema.org, along with a letter of introduction.
The Select Board would like to appoint the member soon, so please submit your application and letter as soon as possible.
