Marion E. Seekell

Dec 20, 2022

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Marion E. Seekell, of Middleborough, who died Friday morning, December 16, 2022, at the Sachem Center for Health & Rehabilitation in East Bridgewater, after a period of failing health.

Marion was born on April 25, 1931 in Middleborough, the daughter of Doris F. (Vickery) & Kenneth L. Tubman, Sr.  In 1947, she married Kenneth E. Crowell, Sr., and together they had six children.  Marion married Stephen D. Pawlak in Middleborough in the '70s.  After their divorce, she married Raymond P. Seekell of Raynham.  Both Stephen and Raymond predeceased her.

Marion wore many hats--in the '60s she worked as a CNA at Colonial Cottage Nursing Home in Middleborough; and in the ‘70s she worked at Woolworths Store, starting behind the counter serving those wonderful ice cream sundaes and then working her way up to an office position in the Dedham location.  After tiring of the commute, Marion assumed a position as a bookkeeper at B&H Auto in Middleborough, followed by a position with the Dorothy Egg Farm in late '80s.

Marion's hobbies and favorite activities were bowling (high scorer at Lakeville Recreation), knitting and crocheting, playing scrabble, bingo, and the slots.  She loved to garden as well.

Marion was predeceased by her parents, brothers Kenneth L. Tubman, Jr. and Earl Tubman, sisters Sally Marler and Lydia Francis, and her son Charles R. Crowell.

Marion is survived by sisters Doris Cobb of MA and Elizabeth Sennett of CT.  Mourning her passing are her children Kenneth E. Crowell, Jr. (Brenda Melville), William T. & Barbara (Fetherston) Crowell, Vicki & Rick Fleetwood of Middleborough, Larry & Barbara (Audette) Crowell of Fall River, Dawn & Charlene Crowell of Middleborough and Charles' partner Sandra McAssey.  11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren are left to treasure her memory.

A private service at the Ashley Funeral Home in Middleborough, will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
