Marilyn J. Chipman, 86

Dec 26, 2024
Marilyn J. Chipman of Raynham died peacefully on December 20, 2024 following a brief illness.  She was 86.

She was born on January 31, 1938 in Boston, the daughter of the late William and Maude (Haynes) Chipman, attending area schools.

Marilyn dedicated her life to bookkeeping, a career she pursued with passion and precision. She began her journey at a small, now long-gone drugstore in Taunton, where she honed her skills and developed a love for her work. Over the years, she brought her expertise to New England Sealcoating, where she served for many years, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Later in life, Marilyn found a professional home at Allegra Print, where she continued to excel in her field and truly enjoyed her role. Her dedication and meticulous nature left a lasting impression at every place she worked.

Marilyn had a special love for shopping with her daughter, especially when it came to flowers. Her car would always be brimming with vibrant blooms by the time we returned home. She adored all her pets, especially Snoopy and Gretchen, her two toy poodles that went everywhere with her over the years. And her cats, treating them like her babies, and made sure to buy them a new toy every week.

She was a remarkably independent woman, raising her daughter with love and dedication while also caring for her own mother right up until her mom's passing. Despite the challenges, we shared many fun and memorable moments throughout the years. She enjoyed trips to Maine with her sister. They had many laughs together and enjoyed good times at Evelyn’s house in Owls Head, Maine, decorating and going out for lobster dinners. She also spent many summers with her life long boyfriend, Sal, vacationing at their trailer in Wells Beach, Maine, where many wonderful memories were made.

She remained dedicated to her work until the final months of her life, finding joy and purpose in her job and the friendships she nurtured there. Work truly kept her spirits high. Christmas was her favorite time of the year—a joyous occasion that she celebrated wholeheartedly with her family, making it a time of love and togetherness.

She will be deeply missed but will always remain alive in our hearts, her love and memories a guiding light in our lives.

Beloved mother of Jennifer Truelson and her late husband William Truelson. Companion of the late Sal Pellegrino. Loving sister of Evelyn Zion and her late husband Walter Zion, the late William Chipman and Ted Chipman.  Also survived by her kitties, Bootsie and Simba, whom she loved deeply.
