Man wanted for murder apprehended after being seen in Middleboro
MIDDLEBORO — A man on the State Police Most Wanted List for a 2022 Brockton murder was apprehended Thursday, June 15 after being located in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn on 43 Harding St. in Middleboro, State Police said.
David K. Lynch, 24, was reportedly seen by police sitting in a BMW X1 SUV in the hotel parking lot. At about 3 p.m., as troopers and officers approached, Lynch rammed two police vehicles as he fled onto Route 44, State Police said.
Lynch was pursued for a time until troopers lost sight of the suspect’s vehicle, State Police said. A few moments later they learned that at approximately 3:05 p.m. Lynch’s vehicle struck another car at the intersection of Orchard and Warren streets in Raynham. The crash resulted in serious injuries to an occupant of that car.
Following the crash the homicide suspect and his male passenger fled the scene on foot, State Police said, but were apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.
The victim whose car was struck has been transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton.
Lynch, who is in now custody along with another occupant of his motor vehicle, was also transported to Good Samaritan Hospital under police guard, along with his passenger, for non-life threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation reveals the existence of a firearm in the suspect vehicle.
Lynch is wanted for murder and related offenses after a Nov. 2, 2022 shooting of a man on West Park Street in Brockton. The passenger who was in the car with him is also facing charges.
