LAKEVILLE — A man was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with injuries that appeared serious after his vehicle struck a utility pole Saturday on County Street near the Freetown line, Lakeville Fire Department reported. 

The accident occurred at approximately 1:20 am. The collision snapped a utility pole, bringing power lines down across Country Street. 

Because of hazards created by the energized wires, first responders used Route 140 to access the south side of the crash. Lakeville Fire and ambulance responded to the scene.

The injured man’s name and condition were not available.
