MIDDLEBORO— Owen Lang, a 20-year-old Kingston man, was charged with armed robbery after he stole money at Sunoco Mart at 157 Main St. on Tuesday, May 9 while possibly showing a knife, Middleboro Police reported.

Around 5:07 p.m. Tuesday, a man wearing all black clothing entered the business, reached over the counter and grabbed money, police said. The store clerk said the man might have had a knife, police said.

After reviewing surveillance video, police put out an alert for a gray Ford Ranger, driven by a man wearing all-black clothing who police said was later identified as Lang.

About 9 p.m, State Police saw a Ford Ranger driven by a man matching Lang’s description near Falmouth. He did not stop immediately for police, but was taken into custody a short time later by Falmouth Police, according to police.

Lang may face other charges related to the brief chase, police said. Those would be filed by State Police and/or Falmouth Police.

He was returned to Middleboro and was then transported to the Plymouth County House of Correction, where he awaits arraignment.

Chief Joseph Perkins and the Middleboro Police Department extended their thanks to the Falmouth and State Police for apprehending Lang.
