Leonie L. Blodgett

Mar 13, 2023

MIDDLEBOROUGH  -  Leonie L. (Holyoke) Blodgett, often referred to as “Ma” by loved ones, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Friday, March 10, 2023, at the Morton Hospital in Taunton.

She was the daughter of the late George & Claire (Goulet) Langevin and was born in Brockton, MA.  From an early age, Leonie worked as a teller at the Raynham-Taunton Dog Track, and continued throughout her adult life until she retired as a result of the Covid pandemic.  Her main passion in life was raising her children, spoiling her grandchildren and taking care of everyone she loved.  She also enjoyed spending time at the beach, watching “her” hummingbirds from her front porch, gardening, and reading.  She was an avid Christian, a member of the MeetingHouse Church, and could often be found reading and studying her Bible.

She is predeceased by her first husband, William Holyoke, also of Brockton; her sister, Rose (Langevin) Andrews; her daughter, Lisa (Holyoke) Johnson; and her grandson, Dana Johnson.

Leonie is survived by her sons, William Holyoke and Jeffrey Holyoke, and her daughters, Holly (Holyoke) Kinsman, Amy Holyoke and Jessica Holyoke.  She also leaves behind many grandchildren as well as great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Leonie is survived by her husband, John Blodgett, and her life-long best friend, Judy Rezendes.  She was loved and will be missed by many.
