Pursuant to M.G.L. Ch 131, the Wetlands Protection Act, the Lakeville Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on March 28, 2023 at 7pm at the Lakeville Police Station, 323 Bedford Street, to discuss exploratory geotechnical borings proposed along Rhode Island Road (Route 79). The applicant, the Town
of Lakeville, is proposing ten (10) exploratory borings along Rhode Island Road to inform the design of five (5) retaining walls associated with a future corridor improvement Project.

Borings are proposed at various locations along Rhode Island Road’s public right-of-way between the Taunton City Line and ending at the intersection with Clear Pond Road.

NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING MEETING

A Live Virtual Design Public Hearing will be hosted on the MassDOT website below to present the design for the proposed District 5: Bridge Bundle Design-Build project in Mansfield, Wareham, and Lakeville, MA.

WHEN: 6:00 PM, March 29, 2023

PURPOSE: The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed District 5: Bridge Bundle Design-Build project. All views and comments submitted in response to the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

PROPOSAL: The proposed project consists of, but is not limited to, the design and construction of bridge deck replacements, bridge preservation, traffic management, pavement markings and signage, utility protection and other related bridge and highway work.

A secure right-of-way is necessary for this project. Acquisitions in fee and permanent or temporary easements may be required. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is responsible for acquiring all needed rights in private or public lands. MassDOT’s policy concerning land acquisitions will be presented in the hearing.

Project inquiries, written statements and other exhibits regarding the proposed undertaking may be submitted to Carrie E.
