HOUSING AUTHORITY

Maintenance/Custodian Laborer
The Middleborough Housing Authority (MHA) is seeking qualified applicants for a position in the Maintenance Department. Base wage rate for this position is $30.91 per hour based on a  40-hour  week.    Normal working hours  are  Mon- Fri. from 7:30-4:00. Additional compensation is paid for on-call and after-hours services.

The Maintenance Custodian/Laborer works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and performs semi-routine and diversified duties in connection with the maintenance and upkeep of the buildings and grounds of the Authority’s elderly, family and special needs housing developments.

The Custodian/Laborer performs a variety of maintenance duties such as cutting grass, snow removal, trash removal. cleaning and painting of apartments and common areas. performing minor plumbing & heating repairs, providing labor support to other maintenance employees and any other tasks as assigned.

General knowledge of maintenance systems, building equipment and small tools is required. Must possess a valid driver’s license, be insurable under Housing Authority insurance and have the ability to lift fifty (50) pounds. Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screening and physical exam. MHA offers a generous benefits package including health, dental, disability insurance and participation in the state retirement system.
