LAKEVILLE — Early voting is available to Lakeville voters for the state primary election from Aug. 27 to Sept. 2 at the old Town Hall, 2 Precinct St.

Hours are: Saturday, Aug. 27, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Monday, Aug. 29, Tuesday, Aug. 30, Wednesday, Aug. 31, Thursday, Sept. 1, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Friday, Sept. 2, the last day for early voting, 8 a.m. to noon.

No application or mailing is necessary, those interested should just show up and vote.

All Massachusetts residents can vote early for primaries, presidential and state elections. Early voting is not available for local elections.

Beginning with early voting for the Sept. 6 state primary, the 150-foot rule prohibiting campaigning around polling places will be extended to early voting sites as well.

This means that there can be no campaigning for or against a candidate or question on the ballot for that election within 150 feet of the entrance to the early voting site during voting hours. Signature gathering of any kind will also be prohibited during the voting hours.
