FALL RIVER – Christin Oliveira, a 37-year-old Lakeville woman, was pronounced dead after a pickup truck collided into her on Route 24 in Fall River on Friday, Nov. 17, State Police Spokesperson James DeAngelis said.

Oliveira was struck by a “2020 Ford F250 pickup operated by a 44-year-old Fall River man,” according to a State Police press release. “The facts and circumstances of the crash, including why the pedestrian was on the highway, are under investigation,” the press release continued.

A spokesperson for the Bristol County District Attorney’s office said that “an investigation is ongoing.”

According to the press release, “Route 24 north was closed for several hours to accommodate the rescue response and crash investigation.”
