Lakeville Library plans magical school vacation week

LAKEVILLE – With school vacation week Feb. 20-24, the Lakeville Public Library is hosting a series of events to keep the young ones busy and entertained.

Awesome Robb’s Magic Show will take place on Tuesday. Feb. 21 at 1 p.m.

The show is 50 minutes long and will hold the attention of those four and older, although younger children are welcome. 

This show will present a variety of tricks, from the Hilarious Soda Bottle of Doom to the Underwear Cannon.

No registration is required. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Lakeville Arts Council.

Disney’s “Encanto,’’ rated PG, will be shown as a matinee movie event at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22. 

Popcorn and juice will be provided. This event is free and open to all ages. See Teresa in the Children’s Room for additional information.

The Lego Free Build event will occur on Feb. 23 from 4-6 p.m. in the Great Ponds Gallery.

Children of any age are welcome as there will be Legos of various sizes. No registration is required. See Teresa in the Children’s Room for more information.

Other upcoming events include:

A Volcano Science program will take place at 6 p.m. Monday, March 13 at 6 p.m. and Thursday, March 23.

Youngsters will be learning all about volcanoes and making their own. Participants are asked to dress accordingly as this will be very messy.

Save the dates for a Super Smash Bros tournament with One Up Games Thursday, April 13 from 4-7 p.m. 

There will also be a Mad Science event on Tuesday, April 18 at 1 p.m.

Story Hour for kids 3 and younger will be happening Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.  Story Hour for those 4 and older is scheduled Thursdays at 1 p.m. Story hours are held inside the Great Ponds Gallery, with winter/spring story hours running through May 18.
