Lakeville to host hazardous waste day May 18
LAKEVILLE — Lakeville will host its annual hazardous waste day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 18 at the Lakeville Transfer Station, 100 Kenneth Welch Drive.
The event is limited to Lakeville residents; proof of residency, either full-time or seasonal, is required.
Due to budgetary limitations, the event is being held on a first-come, first-served basis and may end before noon.
Waste items accepted include: furniture polish, drain and oven cleaners, mercury thermometers, aerosol cans, metal polish, motor oil, brake fluid, driveway sealer, pesticides, insecticides, stains, solvents, oil-based paint and paint thinners.
Items not allowed include: latex paint, alkaline batteries, ammunition, gas cylinders, syringes, propane tanks and asbestos.
There is a limit of 25 gallons or 25 pounds per person.
The transfer station will be open and stickers will be available for purchase. The fee is $70, with $10 for additional vehicles. Proof of residency and auto registration are required.
