A card making class will take place Tuesday, April 1 at 10 a.m. Attendees will make at least 6 "Happy Mail" cards to send to loved ones. Seating is limited admission is $10 per person due at sign-up at the COA.

Old Colony cosmetology students will offer free manicures with arm and hand massages and a polish application Thursday, April 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Admission is free but tips are welcome to help the students pay for their licenses. Join the Lakeville Council on Aging for a showing of the movie Wicked Friday, April 4 at noon. The event is free, call 508-947-7224 to reserve a seat.

The COA will be closed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 8 to recognize their volunteers with an invite only luncheon.

Workout the brain with the COA at two sessions filled with special activities and ideas on how to challenge the brain on the daily.

The event will be held Thursdays, April 10 and 24 as well as May 8 and 22 at 1:00 p.m. Call 508-947-7224 to register.

At Home Hearing Health Care will provide free hearing aid cleanings and exams Thursday, April 10 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Appointments are required, call 508-947-7224.

A support group for anyone struggling with grief or loss will meet Thursday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m. Sign ups are not required and walk-ins are welcome.

A book club will meet Monday, April 14 at 1 p.m. to discuss "Remarkably Bright Creatures"
by Shelby Van Pelt this month. Walk-ins and newcomers are always welcome.

Paint with Amy Wednesday, April 16 at 10 a.m. as she demonstrates how to create a colorful Hydrangea Bouquet. $20 includes all supplies and instruction. Call 508-947-7224 to reserve a spot.

Learn more about ticks and mosquitoes Thursday, April 17 with a class on the science of how diseases are transmitted, and most importantly how to protect oneself from their bites. Signups are required and start immediately. Call 508-947-7224 to register.

Learn basic tech tips Friday, April 18 at 11 a.m. with the IT professionals at All American Assisted Living in Raynham. The event will take place during the COA's free Friday cafe.

Play some bingo and enjoy a lunch Tuesday, April 22 at noon. Spots are limited, and the cost is $5 due at time of sign-up at the COA. This program fills up quickly.

Certified Foot Care Nurse Tina McDonald will provide mobile footcare services Thursday, April 24, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Registration is required, call 508-947-7224 to sign up for a 20-minute, private-pay session.

Join Julie Stepanek to learn the basics of how to play the ukelele Tuesday, April 29 at 10 a.m. No experience necessary, 25 ukuleles will be provided but attendees are welcome to bring their own. Registration is $5.

New games will be available this April. BUNCO plays Fridays, April 11 and 25 at 10:00 a.m. Hand, Knee and Foot card game plays Fridays, April 4 and 18 at 10:00 a.m. The COA is looking for players for Mexican Train Dominos. If interested, call 508-947-7224. 

Jennifer Shallcross from ChalkTalk Technology presents a 4-class session on digital literacy every Thursday at 1 p.m. beginning in May and running through August. Topics include online safety and avoiding scams, using the internet for educational and entertainment, using a smartphone, and simply how to enjoy technology. The cost is $10 per person, per month for 4 classes, due at signup.

Formerly known as the Mother’s Day Tea, this year the Ladies Day Tea celebration will be held at Loon Pond Lodge on Thursday, May 15 at noon. Sign-ups start Monday, April 7. the event will feature delicious teas, an assortment of finger sandwiches, and pastries for dessert, while Rita Parisi of “Waterfall Productions” entertains with her Women of 76’ storytelling presentation. As always, hats, gloves, Victorian garb and audience participation are encouraged. No need to be a mother to attend. This free event is open to all senior ladies of Lakeville only.

Advanced Home Care presents an educational seminar on lifestyle changes, therapeutic approaches, and support systems to enhance mental well-being in older adults Friday, May 2 at noon. Signups are required, call 508-947-7224 to register.

Put on comfy clothes, lean back in a nice chair and bathe in the sounds of instruments Tuesday, May 6 at 10 a.m. This multi-dimensional sound experience offers profound relaxation and refreshes the mind, body and spirit. Space is limited and the cost is $5 per person, due at signup.

Award-winning facilitators Karen Chace and Andrea Lovett will use prompts and interesting activities to guide attendees in a 90 minute oral history workshop Tuesday, May 13 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The workshop will help people uncover interesting stories from their life.
