Lakeville Arts Council seeks grant proposals
LAKEVILLE — The Lakeville Arts Council is seeking proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs due Oct. 17.
These Grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Lakeville -- including exhibits, performances, workshops for children or adults, and lectures.
Applications will only be accepted via “online”. For additional information go online to: massculturalcouncil.smartsimple.com/.
The Lakeville Arts Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth.
The program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.
For 2023, the Lakeville Arts Council will distribute approximately $9,400 in Grants. A few of the funded projects in the past has included Lakeville Library’s Toe Jam Puppet Band, The Lakeville Senior Center’s HollyBriar Bagpipers, Family Trivia and 1908 Tea with Rita Parisi, Massachusetts Art Revealed, the Lakeville Historical Society’s presentation of the Journey Into Native American Art, among several others.
