LAKEVILLE - Kenneth Charles Vera, age 75, of Lakeville, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the VA Healthcare System in Brockton.

He was born on December 2, 1947, in Middleborough to the late Edward & Bernice (Cushman) Vera.  Kenneth graduated from Lakeville public schools and enlisted into The United States Marine Corps.  Serving his country during the Vietnam Era, Kenneth achieved numerous medals such as the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal, and a Rifle Marksman Badge.  He proudly retired at the rank of Sergeant.

Kenneth was a very simple man and worked as a carpenter in the construction business for over 50 years.  He was fortunate enough to design and build his dream home in Lakeville.  Kenneth enjoyed playing chess, tennis, watching old western TV shows, and was also a big gun collector.  He looked forward to his fishing trips with his close friends Brian and Tommy.

Kenneth was the loving father of Sasha Horton, of Taunton; cherished grandfather “PUPPA” of Maggie Horton of Taunton; dear brother of Susan LaBelle of Poinciana, FL; devoted husband to the late Margaret “Maggie” Lawrence and Kathleen Vera.  He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.

Funeral Service and Interment will be private.
