Kathleen R. (Soderbom) Robinson Grace of Middleboro died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 in her home.

 

She was born on August 7, 1948 in Saint Luke's Hospital (Middleboro) the daughter of the late Robert A. and Marion E. (Travis) Soderbom.  She was a graduate of Middleboro Memorial High School (the current Early Childhood Center) Class of 1966 which she always referred to as the "best class."  She graduated from Sturdy Memorial Nursing School in Attleboro.  Kathleen's nursing career spanned over four decades, beginning with St. Elizabeth's Hospital and later Brockton Hospital, where she was a surgical nurse for Dr. Francis D. Cogliano.  Prior to retirement, Kathleen served in the recovery room of Morton Hospital, where she was awarded Employee of the Year for her compassion.

 

Following her retirement, Kathleen was a very active trustee and Vice-President of the Nemasket Hill Cemetery Association.  She generously donated her time, funds and offered compassion without fanfare or the need for recognition.  This was how she lived her life.

 

Kathleen was an avid crafter, and over the years she enjoyed woodworking, stained glass, needlepoint, sewing, and painting. She created beautiful gardens and loved to watch birds enjoy the birdhouses that she built. She was also a fan of NASCAR and adventures with her friends, including one effort to rate as many clam cakes in New England as possible. She proudly described herself as “freakin’ independent” and her family and friends will miss her fresh sense of humor. The love of her family was everything, and she tried to never miss one of her grandsons’ games. She was extremely grateful for her life.

 

Devoted mother of Amy DiBiase (Todd) of Middleboro and David R. Robinson (Terri) of North Easton.  Adored grandmother of Jeremy DiBiase (Ashley) of Middleboro, Cody DiBiase of Charleston, South Carolina and A. J. DiBiase of Middleboro.  Loving sister of Bob Soderbom (Miriam) of Middleboro and Carol Damon (Ken) of Lakeville. Cherished aunt of Kimberly Richardson (John) of Nahunta, Georgia, Carey Aleman (Jason) of Lakeville and Alyson Brule of Tampa, Florida.  Kathleen is also survived by her grandnieces, Audrey Aleman of Lakeville and Kayla Hill (Jaylon) of Athens, Georgia, her aunts, Mary Jane (Travis) Garofalo of Middleboro and Bette (Soderbom) Stewart of Raynham, many cousins across the country and her devoted friends, Judy Tinkham, Ana Braddock and Bob Dexter as well as her fur grandbabies, Gracie, Maggie, Moosie, Teddy and her former husband, Gary Grace.  In addition to her parents, Kathleen was pre-deceased by her former husband, David Robinson.

 

Funeral services on June 26, 2025 (Thursday) at 11 AM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro.

 

Friends may call to the funeral home on Thursday morning, beginning at 10 o'clock.  Interment Nemasket Hill Cemetery.
