Kathleen Ann Pittsley, 65

May 24, 2024

Kathleen Ann Pittsley of Middleboro died peacefully surrounded by her family on May 17, 2024. Kathy was 65.

She was born on May 5, 1959, in Saint Luke's Hospital in Middleboro. The beloved daughter of predeceased Thomas L. Pittsley, Jr., Joyce A Gould Pittsley and Nelson W. Shepard. Devoted sister of Lori A. Pittsley, Thomas L. Pittsley, and fiance Christine Burnell of Centerville, MA. Also survived by her nieces and nephew: Megan Pittsley and Mitchell Bounos, of Kauai, HI, Kara Hill and husband Bill Hill of Raynham, MA, TJ Pittsley and wife Maggie Stryker of Maine and Jenna R. Pittsley of Middleboro. Great nephews and niece Brady Pittsley, Maka Bounos and Myra Hill.

Kathy remained a lifelong resident of Middleborough. Kathy was a graduate of Middleboro High School, Class of 1977. She attended Bridgewater State College (BSU) and Bay State College, earning her associate's degree. She enjoyed quilting, crafts, gardening, traveling, camping, fishing and good food. Kathy loved her family and that love was returned. Our hearts are broken and we will miss her dearly.

Those who personally know Kathy are aware she was very private and did not like any attention drawn to her. She quietly battled breast cancer in 2021; unfortunately the cancer later returned and spread. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing Kathy is no longer in discomfort and pain and is now at peace.

Kathy devoted 23 years to Henley Enterprises, where she loved her work. Kathy considered Henley an extension of her family. She took great pride in its growth and success and grew with it. Kathy started with Henley in Accounting, eventually becoming a key manager in the department. Work was always an important part of Kathy’s life and she was very loyal to Henley, helping out in many areas whenever needed or asked.

Outside of work, Kathy was very talented with quilting and regularly attended crafting workshops. Very family oriented, Kathy enjoyed hosting holidays and celebrations for her extended family, and hanging out with the many nieces and nephews she treated as her own. Kathy loved to play trivia and other group games, was competitive by nature and had a wicked sense of humor. She also relished the simple pleasures of life — having a beer or eating out with friends, watching a good movie, listening to audiobooks or spending summer days at the beach.

Kathy loved her family which extended well beyond her immediate family. Cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She had a love for kids, we often called her the pied piper of kids. She would always make the children in her life feel special.

Kathy loved her family and that love was returned. Our hearts are broken and we will miss her dearly.

Celebration of Life will be held June 15, 2024, from 1:00-5:00 pm at the Middleborough Elks Lodge at 24 High Street, Middleborough, MA.
