MIDDLEBORO — Think you know all there is to know about the real Saint Patrick? His life story includes kidnapping, invasion, slavery, religious controversy, assassination, and other interesting elements.

Irish historian Sean Murphy will visit Middleboro Public Library, 102 North Main St. at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 for a discussion about one of the most famous people associated with Ireland.

As the patron saint of Ireland, he's recognized as having played a major role in the Christianization of the country. There are many myths and legends associated with him, and this program will look at the historical record based on available facts and accepted understandings.

Murphy also will discuss some of the writings of Saint Patrick.

Registration is requested but not required; email Reference/Adult Services Librarian Libby Fox or call the library at 508-946-2470.
