PLYMOUTH – Jean Claire Jones of Middleboro, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away after surgical complications on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center – Plymouth, at the age of 77.

Born in Boston on August 12, 1947, Jean was the cherished daughter of the late John Chisholm and Mary Long. She graduated from Jeremiah E. Burke High School and studied at Bay State College. Known for her strong work ethic and warm spirit, Jean held various roles throughout her life, including working as vice-president/branch manager at Eastern Bank in Falmouth. She also was active in local clubs serving as president of the Rotary Club.

Jean was predeceased by her late husband Robert Jones, who shared 51 years of love and devotion. Her greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her loving children, Robert L. Jones, Jr. of Middleboro, and Christopher M. Jones of Middleboro; adored grandsons, Jacob R. Jones and Benjamin H. Jones; sister, Joan Whooley of Danvers and Rita MacNeil of Brockton.

She was predeceased by her parents, her daughter, Julie Jones of Bourne, and her brothers, John Chisholm and Donald Chisholm both of Nashua, NH, all of whom she held close in her heart.

Jean was a woman of strong will, drive and determination. She had a great heart and always found time to laugh, listen and offer kindness to those around her. She had a passion for cooking and baking, often sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends.

Jean will be remembered for her kindness and resilience, and unconditional love she gave her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched, and stories shared by those who love her.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WEST FALMOUTH, 584 West Falmouth Highway (Rt. 28A), West Falmouth, MA at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow at Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne.
