LAKEVILLE — James "Jim" E. Conant, age 58, of Lakeville, died on Friday, October 21, 2022, at his home.
Born in Middleboro, he was the son of the late Charles & Ruth (Southworth) Conant. Jim grew up in Lakeville, attended public schools and graduated from Apponequet Regional High School, Class of 1983. Years ago, Jim was a driver for the New Bedford Standard Times newspaper, delivering daily newspapers. For 38 years, he was devoted to the Freetown Lakeville Regional School District, working meticulously as the Head Custodian, making sure that all areas, especially the lawns of the schools were perfect! Jim retired this past May 2022. He was a simple man and most content when outdoors.
Jim was the beloved husband of Brenda (Young) Conant; dear father of Lynn Thomason and her husband Robert of Middleboro, Joseph Thayer of Lakeville, Sara Thayer of Middleboro and Brendan Thayer and his wife Coralie of Greenville, New Hampshire; dear brother of Charles "Skip" Conant and his wife Carol of Arizona, Brian Conant and his wife Janet of Haverhill and the late Richard Conant. He is also survived by loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Family and friends are invited to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 4:00-8:00 PM.
All are welcome to the funeral service at the Ashley Funeral Home, Middleborough, on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow at the Sampson Cemetery, Bedford Street, Route 18, Lakeville.
