Born in Nashua, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Celina (Ouellette) Guerette.  Irene attended schools in Nashua, New Hampshire, and was a graduate of Saint Louie High School 1957 and Saint Joseph School of Nursing in 1960.  For 45 years, she worked as a Registered Nurse at the Goddard Hospital formerly located in Stoughton and at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.  Irene was the youngest child of a large family; she loved hosting family reunions in her West Bridgewater home which had a built-in pool.  She was very involved in her parish, Saint Ann's Church in West Bridgewater as well as volunteering at the Food Pantry Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in Middleborough.  Irene kept busy learning family genealogy and vacationing at Newfound Lake in New Hampshire; she loved to play cards and board games.  She adored spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.  

 

Irene was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Gareri; loving mother of Joseph Gareri & his wife Lisa of Norwood and James Gareri of Bridgewater; cherished grandmother of Lauren, Joseph & his wife Kristen, John and Thomas; dear sister of the late Raymond, Roger, Albert, Helen, Doris, Joan and Cecille; dear sister-in-law of Anthony Gareri, Jr. & his wife Mildred of Stoughton, Robert Gareri & his wife Sharon of Florida, Anthony Sera & his wife Catherine of Arizona and the late Pasquale Gareri & his surviving wife Joanne Gareri of New Hampshire.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

 

Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 PM.

 

All are invited to gather at the Ashley Funeral Home, Middleborough, on Friday, July 26, 2024, starting at 9:45 AM, followed by Irene's Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Isidore Parish, SACRED HEART CHURCH, 340 Centre Street, Middleborough, at 10:30 AM.

 

Interment will be private.
