Historical museum to host program on early American art

LAKEVILLE — The Lakeville Historical Society will meet on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Lakeville COA at 7 pm. The evening's program will be 

"Early American Art: Revolutionary Images" with Jill Sandford of Art for Your Mind will be presented by the Lakeville Historical Society at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 24 at the Lakeville Council on Aging, 1 Dear Crossing.

The event  "offers an opportunity to observe famous people, places, and events of the Revolutionary War, through the eyes of those who experienced it,’’ Sandford said. The program covers art from the Boston Massacre to the surrender at Yorktown.

The meeting is accessible, free, and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The society supports the museum and is currently raising funds to repair the cupola. Donation of items for the yard sale which will be held on June  22 and  23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting, will support the project. 

Items for the sale, including household items but not clothing, may be dropped off at the museum on Bedford Street Saturdays June 1, 8, and 15 from 10 a.m. to noon and Sundays June 2, 9, and 16 from 2 to 4 p.m.
