Here’s what you need to know about the state primary for Lakeville, Middleboro
Middleboro and Lakeville voters will vote on or before Sept. 6 for candidates in the Massachusetts state primary election.
Voters will select either a Democratic or Republican ballot to select contenders for that party. The final election is Nov. 8.
Some positions will appear on ballots across the state.
State Senator Sonia Rosa Chang-Diaz and Attorney General Maura Healey are the two Democratic candidates for governor, while the choices for Massachusetts Republicans are Geoff Diehl and Chris Doughty.
For lieutenant governor, Democrats will select either Kimberley Driscoll, Tami Gouveia, or Eric P. Lesser. Republican choices are Leah V. Allen or Kate Campanale.
Democratic candidates for attorney general are Andrea Joy Campbell and Shannon Erika Liss-Riordan. The only Republican running for the position is James R. McMahon III. Democrat Quentin Palfrey will be on the ballot but has exited the race.
William Francis Galvin and Tanisha M. Sullivan are running for secretary of state on the Democratic side, while Rayla Campbell is the only Republican candidate.
Democrat Deborah B. Goldberg is running unopposed for treasurer. She has no Republican challenger.
For auditor, Democrats in contention are Christopher S. Dempsey and Diana DiZoglio. Anthony Amore is the only Republican candidate.
In local races:
Republican Joseph Daniel McDonald, Jr. is running unopposed for Plymouth County sheriff. No Democrat is running.
Democrats Alex A. Bezanson and Carlos A. F. Da Silva and Republican Sandra M. Wright are running for Plymouth County commissioner.
Democrat Rahsaan Hall and Republican Timothy J. Cruz are running for the district attorney seat in Plymouth County.
In Lakeville, Democrat Jake Auchincloss is running unopposed for Lakeville’s congressional representative, and Democrat Joseph C. Ferreira faces no challenger for Governor’s Council in the first district.
Democrat Michael J. Rodrigues and Republican Russell T. Protentis are running for state senator in the First Bristol and Plymouth District. Republican Norman J Orrall is running unopposed for state representative in the 12th Bristol district.
Middleboro residents will have different ballot choices depending on their precincts.
In all Middleboro precincts, Democrat Bill Keating is running for representative in Congress against Republicans Jesse G. Brown and Dan Sullivan.
Voters across all precincts will also select either Democrat Marc R. Pacheco or Republican Maria S. Collins for state senator in Third Bristol District.
In precincts 3, 6 and 7A, Republican Susan Williams Gifford is running unopposed for state representative in Second Plymouth District.
In precincts 2, 4, 5 and 7, Plymouth District, Republican Norman J. Orrall is running unopposed for state representative in the 12th Bristol District.
Voters in Middleboro precincts 1 and 5A will select either Democrat Kathleen R. LaNatra or Republican Eric J. Meschino for the 12th Plymouth District’s state representative seat.
