Haute dog! Alley Theater to host pup show March 11

MIDDLEBORO — Alley Theatre in Middleboro is going to the dogs when the PAW-fection Pup Show takes place Saturday, March 11 at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

This family-friendly event will feature four categories for dogs: Puppy Love: Dogs under the age of 12 months; Gorgeous Girl; Good Boy, and Golden Hour: Dogs over 9 years old, male and female.

Dogs will model onstage during the show. Handlers will walk on stage with their dog. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.

The host for the event is Eric Matthew. He is an award-winning groomer who has not only been a contestant on the small screen but also has groomed and shown dogs at Westminster Dog Show and various other dog shows around the country.

He was a former contestant on the HBO Max reality show “Haute Dog,’’ a reality show that began in 2020, and revolved around dog groomers competing. The show featured canines of all types of breeds as they received creative makeovers. 

The show aired for two years and had a 12-episode run. All episodes can now be watched on HBO Max. He also walked with a dog on the runway for New York pet fashion week.

The entrance fee is $50. Prizes will be awarded. All proceeds benefit The Burt Wood School of Performing Arts.
