Grumbling Gryphons to spin web of adventure
MIDDLEBORO — The Middleborough Public Library will host a performance of Anansi, the Trickster Spider, a West African Tale by the Grumbling Gryphons Traveling Theater group in the Grand Ballroom of Middleboro Town Hall on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 6:30 p.m.
This award-winning theater arts group is based out of Connecticut and is known for their engaging and interactive programs. This show incorporates some ASL (American Sign Language) and an ASL interpreter will be available. No registration is necessary to attend the performance.
Children interested in being part of the show are invited to sign up for the drama workshop prior to the performance at 4:30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at Middleboro Town Hall. Participants will learn the story, act like different animals and play some African instruments. The workshop is best for ages 6 and older. An American Sign Language interpreter will be available for the workshop. Call the library at 508-946-2470 to register.
On Thursday, Aug. 3 at 10:30 a.m. children and adults can help craft spiders for the upcoming show at the Council on Aging at 558 Plymouth St. Participants are invited to stay for lunch. A kid-friendly lunch will be served at noon for $5 per person. The menu features stuffed broccoli and cheese chicken or chicken nuggets and tater tots. Call the Council on Aging at 508-946-2490 to sign up for the spider-making workshop and/or lunch.
