HALIFAX - Greta A. (Anderson) Tanner, age 93, of Halifax, formerly of Port Charlotte, Florida, died on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the Nemasket Healthcare Center in Middleborough.

Born in Kane, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Arnold & Alva (Lindholm) Anderson. Greta grew up and attended public schools in Smethport, Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Smethport High School. She married Walter and together they raised their six children. For many years, Greta worked in the Water Department for the Town of Hanover as an Administrative Assistant and retired in 1987. She soon retired to Port Charlotte, Florida; entertaining family and friends. Greta was an avid reader, and she loved keeping busy with knitting, crocheting, sewing, and baking. Greta and Walter travelled all around the United States and sailed on many cruises. Greta lived a full life; a life filled with family, friends and love.

Greta was the beloved wife for 63 years to the late Walter Tanner; loving mother of Christine Cervelli of Rochester, Cathleen Miller & her husband Kevin of Middleborough, Cindy Anctil & her husband Richard of Halifax, Brett Tanner & his wife Ami of Plymouth and the late Bruce Tanner and Carla Cogar; cherished grandmother of 13, great-grandmother of 13; and dear sister of the late Nancy Billings.

All are welcome to the Visiting Hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NOON, followed by a Prayer service starting at 12:00 NOON.

Interment services will be private.
