Got to collect ‘em all: Middleboro springs into Easter
As the countdown hit zero hundreds of kids charged forward in an Easter egg frenzy, scooping up more than 5,000 thousand colorful candy-filled eggs in minutes.
The event, hosted by Middleboro Meeting House Church, took place the morning of Saturday, April 19 on the front lawn of the Middleboro Town Hall.
With about 250 people assembled, Pastor James Thomasson said attendance didn’t quite reach previous years, likely due to it being rescheduled from the previous weekend.
Despite the slightly lower turnout, Thomasson said the event accomplished the church’s goal of “giving back to the community and letting the people know our church is here.”
While the Easter Bunny did not make an appearance this year the warm weather and sunshine still brought out kids of all ages. Younger children had a chance to take their time with egg collection in a dedicated section. Kids above toddler age competed in a free for all across the lawn.
The Meeting House Church has hosted the event since 2016.
