George Warren Rogers, "The Talker", 82

Apr 25, 2025
MIDDLEBOROUGH  -  George Warren Rogers, "The Talker", age 82, of Middleborough, died on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at his home.

Born in Middleborough, he was the son of the late Marjorie (Day) & George A.J. Rogers.  George was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 4, working for many years as an Operating Engineer.  He loved being outdoors, working on his farm, fishing, gardening and fixing any machine in need of repairs.    George was a family-orientated man; he was kind, easy-going, always willing to help others and was like a brother to everyone.

George was never short on words—only time.  Always telling stories, always sharing a piece of his heart.  His voice filled every room—endless stories, old memories, bits of wisdom, and that unmistakable laugh.  Hopefully heaven has an audience ready, because George has so much to say and all will miss hearing his voice forever.  May George be blessed in heaven, filled with endless desserts, scratch tickets, the lottery, dogs, war memorabilia and antiques.

George was the beloved husband of the late Carolyn (Merriman) Rogers.  He is survived by his sons, John Rogers of North Carolina, Michael Rogers of Lakeville; his daughter, Julie Barboza of Berkley; his step-sons, David Fogg and Timothy Fogg; his step-daughter, Mary Johnson; his five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law Sandra Forna of Longmeadow.  He was the brother of the late James Rogers.

Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 PM.

Funeral Service will be private.
