Frank R. McClelland III, 64

Sep 26, 2024
Frank R. McClelland III, of Middleboro, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2024, at the age of 64.

Born on December 20, 1959, in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. Frank moved to Middleboro at an early age, where he attended local schools and graduated from Middleboro High School in 1978. From a young age, Frank was known for his strong work ethic and passion for the things he loved. He began his career working with his family, raising, training, and racing greyhounds. Later, he joined Bay State Piping, where he worked alongside his father. Through hard work and determination, Frank earned his Journeyman Plumbing license, impressively passing both portions of the exam on his first attempt.

Frank's entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his trade led him to establish Frank's Plumbing Service, which he proudly operated for many years. His customers quickly became more than clients—they became friends who admired his expertise, kindness, and genuine nature. Frank also took great pride in working with Tom Corcoran at Water Filtration Services, where he built lasting relationships while showcasing his plumbing skills.

Frank was a man of many passions. He was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and all New England sports teams, spending countless Sunday afternoons cheering on his favorites with family, snacks, and plenty of enthusiasm. An avid NASCAR and NHRA fan, Frank loved attending races, always chasing the thrill of fast cars. A true Volkswagen enthusiast, he could often be found cruising around town in his beloved 1969 “Bug,” his pride and joy. Frank also had a green thumb and took great pride in maintaining his yard. He found peace in gardening, spending countless hours perfecting his outdoor spaces. One of his greatest joys was his annual Halloween display, transforming his yard into a haunted masterpiece, and he had a collection of quirky T-shirts that reflected his playful spirit.

Frank was the beloved son of the late Helen and Frank R. McClelland, Jr. He leaves behind his loving wife, Debby (Stark) McClelland, with whom he shared over 50 years of friendship, love, and companionship. He was a proud and devoted father, always there to support his three children: Albert Farland, Amanda (Mandi) McClelland and her partner Thalia Maldonado with their son, Frank’s first grandson, Kenneth, and Lexi McClelland and her partner Jenna Twarog. Frank is also survived by his brother, Bill Gazza, and his wife Karen of Middleboro; a sister of Lakeville; and many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members that he loved. Frank cherished his black lab, Gus; and his two cats, Ziggy and Ozzy, whom he "never wanted or liked," but loved more than he would ever admit.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Frank’s life during visiting hours on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street), Middleboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the Lakeville Animal Shelter, 8 Montgomery Street, Lakeville, MA 02347, in Frank’s honor.
