Elizabeth "Betty" M. (Pappas) Mizaras, 95
MIDDLEBOROUGH - Elizabeth "Betty" M. (Pappas) Mizaras, age 95, of Middleborough, died on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at the Chestnut Hill Benevolent Association in Brookline.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Charles & Elizabeth (Hawkins) Pappas and grew up in the South End. After graduating high school, Betty married Robert; she began working as an artist and they moved to Atlanta for several years, moving back to Massachusetts and purchasing Robert's Dairy Farm in Middleborough. Betty helped Robert with the farm and soon started her working career in real estate with Hogan Realty in Bridgewater. She went on and established her own company, Mizaras Realty in Middleborough, working for many years as a real estate broker. Betty was active in the community, serving as the First Female President of the Cranberry Chamber of Commerce. In retirement, Betty and her husband Robert travelled around the world; visiting Europe, Greece and England; and they enjoyed the sights as they drove around the United States and Mexico. She loved being an artist too; especially working with water colors and classical artwork. Betty was an avid reader of mysteries and biographies and enjoyed completing crossword puzzles.
Betty was the beloved wife of the late Robert Mizaras; loving mother of Merrie Mizaras of Middleborough, Robert Mizaras of Middleborough, Stacey Mizaras of Middleborough and the late Elizabeth Mizaras; devoted grandmother of Robert Gove & his wife Maybel of Raynham; great-grandmother of Spencer and Saoirse; and dear sister of the late Margaret, Helen and Tom.
