Elizabeth (Betty) Hutchinson, age 80, loving wife of James Hutchinson of 61 years, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, with her husband and children by her side. Born in Somerville, MA, on Tuesday, July 20, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Lyman and Betty (Boyce) Chisholm. In addition to her husband Jim, Betty is survived by her son Jimmy Hutchinson and his wife Jo-Ann of Plympton, MA, daughter Betty Teceno and her husband Lenny of Salisbury, NH, daughter Debbie Fonseca and her husband Walter of Plymouth, MA, son John Hutchinson and his wife Sharon of Lakeville, MA, grandchildren Len Teceno and his wife Katie, Nick Teceno, Connor Hutchinson and his fiancé Julia, Patrick Hutchinson and his wife Alicia, John Hutchinson, Carter Hutchinson, Samantha Fonseca and her fiancé Shawn, and Eve Fonseca, her great grandson and great granddaughter Liam and Jayne Teceno, brother John Chisholm of Plymouth, MA, brother Allen Chisholm of Plymouth, MA, and her sister Cheryl Towers of Florida. Betty was the sister of the late Lem Chisholm.

Betty retired from the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District in July of 2006 after 26 years as a teacher’s aide. Betty’s favorite place was Georgetown, Prince Edward Island, where she spent most of her summers and made many of her best memories with family and lifelong friends. She enjoyed a gentle and peaceful life with family at the core. Betty could often be found enjoying a puzzle and something sweet with her grandchildren at her side. Her true love in life is her husband Jim, who unconditionally loved and cared for her throughout their 61 years of marriage. She will be dearly missed by all her family and fondly remembered for her loving nature and infectious smile.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 10:00AM -12:00PM, immediately followed by a prayer service at 12:00PM, at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347. We will then go processional to Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree, where Betty will be laid to rest.
