Donna L. (Pierce) Marshall, 77
Wilton - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Donna L. (Pierce) Marshall, 77, of Wilton, ME. Donna passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, December 19, 2024, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Gene A. Marshall Sr. and daughter of the late Harold W. and Inez E. (Morris) Pierce. Donna was born in Middleborough, MA, on November 17, 1947.
Donna met the love of her life, Gene, the night the lights went out in the Cumberland Farms in Lakeville, MA, when she was 14 years old. They were married on December 22, 1963, when she was just 16. Donna and Gene started a family, and their love story continued to blossom and grow over the years, and still does today.
Donna lived for her family, and her family was everything to her. She enjoyed hosting Sunday cookouts at her home on Assawompset Pond in Lakeville, MA. She later moved to Florida and worked in their landscape business with her husband, Gene. She eventually moved to Wilton, ME, in 2005 to be close to her children and grandchildren. She had numerous jobs over the years, but the one she loved the most was being a homemaker. She worked for Ocean Spray Cranberries, the American Cancer Society, the Honey Baked Ham Company, drove clients to medical appointments in Boston (before cell phones and GPS), Honey Dew Donuts, and she was a hostess at the former Harvest House in Farmington.
Donna was a kind and loving soul. She had a great sense of humor and a sassy side that you would never forget. She made everyone smile, and you felt loved when you were around her.
Donna also enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, bingo, going to yard sales, and taking an occasional trip to play the slots at the casino.
Donna attended the Lakeville Church of the Nazarene before moving. She never lost her faith in the Lord. She always said, “Love the people God gives you ‘cause one day he’ll want them back.”
In her final years, she most enjoyed taking care of her husband, Gene, and visiting with her kids and especially her grandkids.
