Dollhouse creator raises nearly $3,000 for diabetes research

LAKEVILLE — Rich Adey’s miniature dollhouses have made a big impact. Adey has been crafting hand-made dollhouses for around 40 years, and in December he raffled off one of his dollhouses to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

In total, the raffle and associated donations raised “close to three thousand dollars,” Adey said. The winner of the raffle was Jackie Cabral from Manchester, New Hampshire, he said.

Adey said that he was inspired to raise money for diabetes research because of his granddaughter, Olive, who was diagnosed with diabetes in 2023.

“Between online donations and raffle tickets sold at the new Lakeville Ace Hardware Store (Winbergs), we raised close to three thousand dollars,” Adey said. “Our family is so grateful and wants to thank our family, friends, and members of the local community for their financial support.”
