MIDDLEBOROUGH - Dianne S. ( Zion) Griswold, age 81, of Middleborough, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Morton Hospital in Taunton.

Born in Brockton, she grew up in East Bridgewater and graduated with the class of 1961 from East Bridgewater High School. Dianne furthered her education by attending classes at Bridgewater State College. She met the love of her life Harold, while at a dance at the West Bridgewater Canoe Club; they soon married and started their family.

For 38 years, Dianne worked with patience, joy and love as a kindergarten Teacher’s Aide for the Middleborough School System, before retiring in 2014. She travelled extensively with her husband Harold around the world, with Egypt being her favorite place she had visited. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and being involved in their activities. She never missed a baseball, softball or dance competition. Dianne cherished her time spent with her family. Over the years, she kept in touch with her high school friends and participated in the book club they created known as “The Bookies”.

Dianne was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Dianne loved fashion and anything with BLING! The more shine and sparkle the better; each day she would be “dressed to the nines,” wearing elegant and fashionable clothing. She was loved and full of love and will be missed immensely.

For 63 years, Dianne was the beloved wife of Harold Griswold; loving mother of Diana M. Lawson & her husband John A Lawson, Jr. of Middleborough and Deborah M. Houle & her husband Michael A. Houle of Westfield; cherished grandmother of Hannah L. Swale & her husband Nicholas, Brent Houle & his fiancée Tori, Alexa Houle & Brendan; great-grandmother of Kayden Swale and Crue J.D. Swale; and dear sister of the late Mary Zilinski.

All are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 PM.

Gathering of family and friends will be held at the Ashley Funeral Home, Middleborough, on Thursday March 27, 2025, starting at 9:45 AM, followed by Dianne’s Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Isidore Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre Street, Middleborough at 10:30 AM.

Interment will follow at the Central Cemetery, Centre Street, Middleborough.
