Daniel F. Boulger, 74

MIDDLEBOROUGH  -  Daniel "Dan" Francis Boulger, age 74, of Middleborough, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023, after a brief illness.
 
Born in Malden, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Joseph F. & Marion F. Boulger.  He graduated from Malden High School and attended Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.  Dan attended and graduated from Boston State College with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology; University of Massachusetts Boston with a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Vocational/Career/Counseling Psychology; and from Boston University with a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work.  
 
Dan served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, honorably discharged, and awarded the Presidential Citation and Bronze Star.  He worked for the Veterans Administration as a veterans counselor and team leader in helping develop the Veterans Satellite Programs in Brighton, Lowell and Brockton, Massachusetts and in later years he worked for private counseling and addiction centers.  Dan built a private practice for social work in Middleborough where he enjoyed working with veterans, families and adolescents.
 
Dan is survived by his wife, Concetta Boulger of Middleborough; his sister, Lillian McCarthy and the late Francis McCarthy of Melrose, Massachusetts; his brother-in-law, Paul Breen and his late sister, Arlene Breen of Kittery, Maine; and many nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents, his sister and brother Arthur "Bud" Boulger of Wilmington, Massachusetts.
 
A private Graveside Service with Military Honors, will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
