It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Not to mention the busiest.

Don’t miss a moment. Synch up your calendars and make plans to celebrate the holidays with these area activities.

Friday, Dec. 2

Check out holiday crafts. The Lakeville Arts Council will host All That Glitters, a holiday craft event from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 inside Loon Pond Lodge at Ted Williams Park, 28 Precinct St., Lakeville.

A cash bar will be offered to shopping guests Friday evening with musical entertainment by Blake Gorman of Lakeville. Bela Sarkozy Jr of Lakeville will perform on Saturday. Both entertainers will play music with holiday tunes to get you in the holiday mood. 

Local crafters will sell their one-of-a-kind crafts at this special event such as acrylic paintings, cards, photography, stoneware pottery, woven items, knitted items, fused glass- dishes and jewelry, holiday decorations, decoys, doorstops, mosaics with resin, dog and cat items, quilts, CBD salves, soaps and balms, among other items.

View festive trees. The Festival of Trees begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 at 46 South Main St., Middleboro.

The trees on display will feature a range of themes, including Harry Potter, Boston sports teams, angels, Vineyard mysteries, Snowflakes and Snowmen.

Those attending can view the trees and visit with Santa.

Visit a Winter wonderland. A winter wonderland featuring Jesus in the Nativity, hot chocolate, face-painting, storytelling and Santa will be held at 31 Center St. in Middleboro.

The event will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2; 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3;  4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4 and Friday, Dec. 9; 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10; and 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11 and Friday, Dec. 16.

Admission is $10 for anyone older than 16; $5 for those ages 5 to 15 and free for children younger than five. All proceeds support Adult & Teen Challenge’s Bloom, A Place for Girls. A Place for Girls is a short-term, Adult & Teen Challenge program in a home-like setting dedicated to helping teen girls, youth ages 12-17, and their families through difficult times, according to the organization’s Web site.

Saturday, Dec. 3 

See Middleboro’s Christmas tree light up. Middleboro’s ninth annual Christmas tree lighting and second annual Christmas market fest will be held Saturday, Dec. 3 in the Town Hall ballroom, second floor of 10 Nickerson Ave.

The festivities, sponsored by the Middleboro Tourism Committee, begin at noon with a variety of vendors selling holiday wares. 

Along with the display of vendors, this free event will include holiday treats and a special guest, Santa Claus. Participants may enter a free raffle for a chance to win a Christmas door prize.

The countdown to the tree lighting will begin at 4:45 p.m. with the festivities wrapping up at 5 p.m. Donations of new, unwrapped toys are being collected for Toys for Tots.

Celebrate as the Lakeville tree brightens the night. The Lakeville Lions will be hosting the annual tree lighting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Lions Clubhouse, 170 Main St.

Festivities will include caroling, s'mores, hot chocolate and Santa. Those attending are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots and non-perishable food items for the Middleboro St Vincent de Paul Sacred Heart food pantry. 

Make a holiday wreath. Soule Homestead, 46 Soule St., Middleboro, will host a holiday wreath workshop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 in the West Classroom.

Long-time volunteer and instructor Mary Ann Cunningham will conduct two sessions of wreath making workshops using freshly cut winter greens. The first session is from 10 a.m. to noon and the second session is from 1 to 3 p.m. 

Cost for making a wreath is $25 for Soule members and $30 for non-members. 

Those attending are asked to bring garden gloves and hand pruners if they have them and any special items they might want to add to the wreath. Fresh cut greens, ribbon, wire, wreath backs and other additional decorations will be provided. 

Hot cocoa, coffee, and soup will be served.

Purchase locally made decorations. Seasonal decor handmade by members of the Friends of the Lakeville Council on Aging will be sold from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at Lakeville Landing Parking lot, 350 Bedford St., next to the fire station.

Rain date is Sunday, Dec. 4. The sale will also continue on that date if items aren’t sold.

Friends members created fresh green wreaths, centerpieces, baskets, pine cone wreaths and ornaments, among other items. 

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Friends.

Friday, Dec. 9 

Stroll through the lights Holiday Lights at the Park, a park and walk event at Battis Field in Middleboro, will take place from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 and 18. The Middleboro Parks Department and Middleboro Tourism Committee are the sponsors. Cost is $15 per a family of up to four people on Eventbrite, $5 cash per person on the day of the event. Saturday, Dec. 10 

View a live Nativity. Cornerstone Community Church, 111 Highland Road, will host a Christmas event 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10.

The event will include a live Nativity, Christmas walk-through, carolers, food and hot chocolate. 

This is an outdoor and indoor event. Inclement weather date is 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11.
