LAKEVILLE – Highland Road was closed temporarily after a car and a bus crashed on Tuesday, Nov. 22, according to a Facebook post from the Lakeville Fire Department. The Facebook post stated that “alcohol was not a factor” in the crash.

No one from the crash was transported to a hospital, the Facebook post said, although “four people were evaluated for injuries.”

A spokesperson for the Lakeville Police said that the crash occurred at 2:06 p.m. and that the crash “remains under investigation.”

According to a crash report regarding the incident, the car turned “right onto Highland Road at a high rate of speed, considering the ground is wet [and] it is cloudy and raining,” and then entered the “wrong lane.” The bus “attempt[ed] to swerve” but a “collision was unavoidable.”

The driver of the car was cited for a marked lanes violation and for an improper turn.
