Bridgewater man killed in Middleboro crash
MIDDLEBORO — A Bridgewater man was killed in a crash on Fuller Street Monday, June 10, after his vehicle hit a tree and flipped over into a nearby marsh, Middleboro police reported.
Middleboro police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash near the Middleboro and Halifax town line at 11:41 a.m.
Upon arrival, first responders observed a 2015 white GMC pickup truck that had struck a tree and was flipped over into marsh water. The sole occupant, a 23-year-old man from Bridgewater, had been ejected in a small brook beside the road. Middleboro Fire Department divers attempted a water rescue, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver has not yet been released.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the accident.
Middleborough Police are investigating the crash with assistance from the State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office.
