Balloons, barber shop music among festival features

LAKEVILLE — Entertainment continues to be announced for Lakeville’s 18th annual Arts & Music Festival, to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 pm. Saturday, Sept. 30 at 18 Precinct St., routes 105 and 18, Lakeville.

Musicians scheduled to perform includes NoteAble Blend, a women’s barbershop chorus of all ages who enjoy singing together. They will perform a variety of songs both ballads and up-beat tunes to get the event started. 

Bela Sarkozy returns to perform his solo jazz guitar with a style that blends swing, bebop, Latin, bossa nova, and pop to help visitors swing while they shop inside the historic Town Hall.

Family entertainment is also on the agenda, including a stilt walker and a bubble performer who will create huge bubbles.

Eyes will pop as Ed Popielarczyk sculpts balloons. He makes hundreds of items such as hats, animals, airplanes, cartoon characters, flowers and motorcycles.

A variety of artisans will selling their handmade items such as unique photography, charcuterie boards, cutting boards, CBD, pizza paddles, decoys, gnomes, handmade hobby horses, jewelry, handmade baskets and birdhouses, among other items. 

There will also be informational tables for nonprofit organizations.

This event is supported in part with grants from the Freetown, and Middleboro cultural councils, and Lakeville Arts Council. 

All three are local agencies supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
